Malina Dawn
Malina is a nehiyaw-ahpihtawikosisān iskwew (Cree Métis woman) who grew up on the prairies of turtle island and now resides on the traditional and ancestral unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations otherwise known as Vancouver, BC, Canada. She weaves the worlds of indigenous wisdom and yogic knowledge to guide people along their healing journey. Having been a drum carrier and song catcher for 10 years, she reclaimed her own culture after meeting an elder who introduced her to the drum. She works diligently to learn the traditional ways of her ancestors and advocates for a clean and healthy way of life connected to our good Mother Earth.
She works with indigenous and non indigenous youth to help them with their mental health and provides life skills that youth can use to cope with the effects of colonization on their communities and families. She has spent the last 20 years studying and healing herself while working with people of all ages and from all walks of life to guide them to the reclamation of their own culture, identity, body and healing through a decolonized and trauma informed lens. Today she leads in person and online yoga classes, retreats, and trainings all over turtle island.
